ON/OFF RESERVATION: Off LAWFUL GEAR: Hand held gear as specified in Tribal Fishing Ordinances (hook and line, dip-net, etc.) EFFECTIVE DATES: May 9, 2020 through April 30, 2021 DAYS/HOURS: Open 7 days per week, 24 hours per day, except as restricted below in this regulation. AREA RESTRICTIONS: Areas 4B, 5, 6 (west of green point), 6c, and 7: Release all chum salmon July 1 through September 30. Area 9: Chinook bag limit 6; release chum June 1 through September 30. Area 9A: Release steelhead February 1 through November 30. Area 6 (east of green point), 6A, 6B, 6D: Release all Chinook and chum salmon June 1 through September 30. Areas 12, 12A, 12B: Release steelhead; release Chinook and chum salmon June 1 through September 30. Dosewallips, Duckabush and Hamma Hamma: Open for salmon from October 1 through February 28; release Chinook and steelhead; release chum through October 15; closed March 1 through September 30. Big Quilcene River: August 16 through August 31; open for salmon with a daily limit of 6 coho, release Chinook and chum salmon; release steelhead. September 1 through October 15, open for salmon, no bag limit, release Chinook and chum salmon; release steelhead; open daylight hours only through October 10. October 16 through November 30, open for salmon with a daily limit of 6 fish; release all Chinook and chum salmon through October 30; release steelhead. Closed December 1 through August 15. All subsistence fishing is limited to the area between Rogers Street and Highway 101. Big Beef Creek: Open December 1 through March 15; hook and line gear only; bag limit 2. Closed March 16 through November 30. Dungeness River: Salmon and steelhead open October 16 through March 15; opening may be delayed depending on river flow and in-season conditions meeting co-manager agreed-to criteria. Closed March 16 through October 15. All other freshwater areas: Hook and line subsistence fishing regulated by provisions in the Tribal Fishing Ordinances. Non-commercial hand held gear fishing by tribal citizens at Usual and Accustomed freshwater fishing grounds and stations is permitted for subsistence and/or sport purposes whenever all citizen sport fisheries are open. OTHER RESTRICTIONS: All fishers shall have a Tribal Subsistence Catch Reporting Card while subsistence harvesting, and record all subsistence catches on the subsistence card, as per the Tribal Fishing Ordinances. Subsistence harvest of salmon and steelhead in commercial fisheries and/or with other gear types are regulated under other PNPTC regulations. All take-home fish from a commercial landing must be recorded as take-home on a commercial ticket. EMERGENCY REGULATIONS: Openings and restrictions outlined in these regulations may be modified at any time by emergency regulations and more specific subsistence and/or ceremonial salmon and steelhead fishing activity may be issued as necessary. JUSTIFICATION(S): Provide tribal subsistence harvest with regulatory action necessary to assist in the conservation effort of depressed salmon and steelhead populations.
